Introducing Stevie and Three

BY:

I’ve hinted at my new business a couple of times now but haven’t really explained what it is – at all.

It’s time to give you a few more details as exciting/anxiety inducing as that may be!

I’m still nutting out some things but I thought it might be interesting for you if I blog the process as I’m moving towards launch.

I’ll be doing the whole thing myself – from logo to website and marketing and documenting it all here. It’s a little un-nerving posting things like the logo development that is not yet finalised (screenshot above) but take it as a sign that in this process there will be ups and downs! It will all be recorded!

So, here goes:

The idea…

Feel good posters that you can customise.

The business…

Sell customisable typographic posters online that are designed, made to order and printed here in London.

You can choose from three designs to customise. Once you’ve approved the proof – the print will be made to order (using heavy paper and the giclée printing process) and posted out to you for you to hang on your wall.

The brand…

Is stevie and three, a lifestyle brand. I wanted to combine my love of clean design, typography, travel and interiors to create a brand for happy homes and adventurous spirits.

The inspiration…

The idea came from the manifesto I made and shared on this blog. I originally designed it as a note to myself/kick in the pants to get a move on with creating and living the life I had imagined. I was amazed by how passionately people related to the words.

I thought it would be great if you could make your own personal manifestos (out of sayings, quotes, lyrics, statements) for your home (or business) to create affordable, meaningful art that makes you feel good.

Et voilà! There you have it! That’s the basic idea. Stay tuned for more details in the following weeks!

P.S. You’ll (finally!) be able to buy the original manifesto too.

    Clare,

It is so great to see people following their dreams, especially in creative ventures!

Sending loads of positivity to your new business,
    Danielle (@D_is_for_Danger)

  1. Can’t wait to see the finished logo/site/product, Clare! Am sure it’ll be fabulous!

  2. Thanks Bree and Danielle! It’s one thing to do what you’ve always done and another to take a chance! Am really excited about this – it feels natural and right! And I can’t stop using exclamation marks!

  3. Yay!!! I was hoping this is what you’ve been hinting at. Your manifesto is just the most beautiful thing in both design and words.

I don’t know whether it will fit into what you’re doing but there’s some song lyrics that I would love to have made into a poster for my husband –

    How’s my luck
    But somehow
    I’m with you
    Let’s leave now

    Let’s leave them
    And their point of view
My favourite place is me and you

    I wake up
    In darkest night
    I watch you breathe
    In shadow light

    A perfect world
    Lies next to me
And I don’t need to sleep to dream

Kate Miller-Heidke (a Brisbane girl I think) – Space they cannot touch

In particular the last three lines. Will wait and watch what you’re up to in anticipation.

    Good luck!

  4. Thank you Kirralee! Am sure I could do something special for you. Am planning to launch mid October!

    Hi Clare.

Just a quick note to say this is fantastic for the simple fact that its motivating to those who have great ideas but are not sure how to or are hesitant to take the first step. I know some people that I will be forwarding this too!

I look forward to the updates!

Hey Clare! That’s awesome. I think people will totally love it. (I do!) It turns something everyday into art that will always mean something to you. Best of luck for the homestretch. x

  5. @Jess – thanks, would really appreciate it if you pass it on! Hope other women find the process helpful to see.

@Anna – thanks A! Mini Mecca is looking gorgeous!

@Lisa – cheers Lisa! Thrilled with the response so far.

Oh Clare, that is such exciting news. Good for you, taking the plunge and following your heart. I’m sure they’ll sell like hotcakes! J x PS Looking forward to being able to buy the manifesto (and hoping we can choose our colours, too!).

  6. Thanks Jane. Yes, you’ll be able to choose from a range of colours too! And completely open to special requests too.

  7. Love this idea Clare, can’t wait to see the finished website. You are such a clever cookie, I am sure it will be amazing. Can you autograph the back of mine when I order it, so when you are as famous as Richard Branson I can sell it on eBay ;) x

  8. Haha, as my mum would say, Kate you’re such a trick!

  9. great idea Claire- a lovely gift idea… wondering if you’d have a kiddies version??! think our clientele would love it!

I love this idea! I have your manifesto in a little frame to give me confidence. Everytime my father see’s it he always comments that it is such true statements and uplifting sentiment. Good luck with setting up, and I ant wait to see it all set up.

Congratulations Clare! Your manifesto is such an inspiring set of words for us gals and I imagine Stevie and Three to be just as inspiring and exciting! All the best with it… We all look forward to the site launch x

Oh how exciting Clare! I too have your manifesto hanging on my inspiration board, so I can’t wait to see what you do with Stevie and Three. Congratulations, I look forward to following the journey and seeing the final product! :)

  10. @Esther that is so sweet! I love that it gives you confidence. We all need a boost sometimes!!

@Naomi thanks for the support! Can’t wait to have it all set up and launched. How’s Neon Village coming along?

    @Ren thanks Ren!

  11. Go for it!!! I actually printed out your manifesto and hung it on my wall back in December when I found etsy and opened our shop.

I think your plan sounds fantastic. I’ve done customization of my pieces and people love that you’re willing to make things that are ‘special’ and ‘specific’ to them.

    Best of luck…..thanks for sharing.

  12. @Rachel there will be a children’s collection – looking forward to hearing what you think of it!

I LOVE this idea Clare, it’s brilliant and just what I need. I have so many mantra type posters in my home … This week I tried rather unsuccessfully to create a poster for my son – to remind him to brush his teeth properly everyday. Ten year olds forget! Anyway my poster turned out so boring and stupid since I have zero design skills. I can’t wait to be one of your first customers.

  13. Thanks so much Jacqui! I can’t wait!
