Dealing with negativity

I attended my first ever networking event recently and received some negativity towards my business idea from an attendee. It was only one person out of a large group, but I walked away from the event questioning everything.

I'd like to know how others deal with these types of people, and generally how to deal with those negative comments within yourself?

I've been told by some that there is grant money out there to help me with start up expenses.

My CEO has been telling people I work with that I am quitting after I had a small meltdown and became teary. This is very rare for me and so took all by surprise. I am also a very senior member of the organisation.

I will be meeting with him early next week and would like to know if there are any mediation services available in Adelaide if I need to go down that track.
